of the May 4th, 2005 OHG Business Meeting

The meeting
was called to order at 7:08 by President Charity Gramm.
Secretary's Report -- The minutes of the April meeting were read by Bonnie
Howard.
Treasurer's Report -- The Treasurer, Alicia Beard, reported that there
is $6768 in the treasury.
Editor's Report -- No report.
Educational Outreach Report -- No report.
MSS Report -- Jon
Beard mentioned that the next MSS meeting is May 14 at 1:00 in Rolla.
Library Report -- No report.
Website Report -- There was some discussion about the changes that need
to be made to the server for the OHG website.
Garrison Report -- There
is a Garrison trip planned for May 15th.
CCC Report -- Bill
Copeland stated that there was a CCC survey trip planned for the weekend
of May 7 and 8. They plan to meet at the schoolhouse between 9-10, get
in the cave by 11, and that it will probably be a 14-16 hour trip.
Old
Business
Jeremy reported
that he would go to Smallin Cave at Camp Sunrise sometime during the week
of May 23.
The Supertrip
will be the third or fourth week in July. Where in Colorado depends on
who goes-so far it looks like Todd, Charlie, Michael Carter, new Bob,
and Jack are interested. Stay tuned for more info.
New Business
Charlie Rey
has been contacted by Summerscape to help with some cave tours probably
in late June or early July.
Michael Carter
mentioned the grotto should consider repairing several broken stalagmites
in Talking Rocks Cavern.
Michael Carter
talked about replacing the mylar sheets in the Smittle Cave registers
that have been in the cave for many years.
Announcements
Bill
Heim, Jack Rosenkoetter, and Bonnie Howard hauled away 1,780 POUNDS of
trash from the Crystal Cave property. Good job, guys!
Bill Heim reported
on a new sinkhole opening up near Wayne, Mo. Bill measured it and said
that it was about 189 feet by 87 feet in diameter!
There is a
camp out and cave restoration trip on May 7 and 8 with MVG at Onondaga
Cave St. Park. Contact Lawrence Ireland for details.
MVOR is the
weekend starting with Friday, May 20th.
Ennis 20th
reunion is Memorial Day weekend. There is a $30 charge per person.
On May 14 or
15 there will be a survey of Shamel Cave near Digger's in Laclede County.
On June 4 there
will be a trip off trail in Marvel Cave.
The MCKC will
have a meeting and camp out at Powder Mill campground on June 11 and 12.
OHG’s
30th Reunion will be at the New Family Center at Doling Park on Aug. 20
from 11am - 5pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:38pm. The fun continued at the meeting
after the meeting at Cielito Lindo's.
